Alan's thoughts: "The Broadway revival of “Little Shop of Horrors” in 2003 was one tough experience to live through. We started with a quirky, dark take on Howard’s and my 1982 production Off-Broadway. The plug was pulled on that production out of town. I will forever live with the pain of how that affected many relationships I cherished. But then, with Jerry Zaks at the helm, a delightful and lovingly faithful production came to Broadway. And as much as I wish we could have seen that first impulse through, I will always be grateful for the great talents who stepped in to bring “Little Shop” back to life at the Virginia Theater."
